Turkeys

Pasture Raised Thanksgiving Turkeys

We raise Broad Breasted White Turkeys from chick to butcher day. This breed is the most common for being raised domestically and well known for filling dinner plates at Thanksgiving time. We raise them inside for the first few weeks to let them feather out and gain their strength to maneuver the outdoors. They are supplemented with an all natural, plant based turkey feed throughout their life span.

As soon as they are able, we introduce them to their pasture where they are able to graze 24/7. These birds are great foragers when allowed and they love spending their days munching on insects, grass and other little critters.

The turkeys are butchered on Monday (weather dependent) the week of Thanksgiving. Since we raise hens and toms, we do offer a variance in your turkeys weight. The lighter birds are around 16 pounds and the heavier birds can be up to 26 pounds. If you reserve a bird with us, we will ask if you would prefer a smaller or larger bird. Your bird will be fresh, never frozen at the time of pick up and ready to be cooked up just in time for the holiday!
