2017 Calves

We raise grass-fed beef from birth to ensure they are not injected with hormones, given antibiotics or fed grain. Our animals eat a fresh salad bar each day in the grass growing season and eat dried grass (hay) in the winter. Animals are processed at 2 years of age. Wholesale (quarter, half or whole) beef is typically only available twice per year.

Butchering

  • The cost of the butcher varies based on the weight of the steer and your cut selection, but should be about $100 for a quarter beef.
Custom Processing is by USDA facility Chenoa Locker, Inc. in Chenoa, IL.
  • The butcher will walk you through the cut order to get your beef exactly as you want it.
  • Beef will be available for you to pick up directly at the butcher in Chenoa, IL approximately 3-4 weeks after the animal is delivered. The beef will be frozen by the butcher ahead of pickup. You can bring coolers or plastic totes, wrapped in heavy blankets, to help insulate the meat and keep it cold until you get it home and in your freezer.
